The Smackdown Is Your Best Friend
If there is a large enough gap between your party's level and the enemies, a blue icon will appear over your foes' head. Instead of engaging in battle, you can press a button to automatically defeat the group of enemies with a "Smackdown." This even applies to crown-wearing "Keepers of the City" enemies. You still get rewards when using a Smackdown, so you should take advantage of this whenever possible. Making liberal use of Smackdowns is one of the best methods for earning XP, Job XP, Bond Points, money, and crafting materials.
...Or Maybe It's Your Smartphone
Kasuga's (and Kiryu's) smartphones are filled with useful apps. You can call a taxi to fast travel, summon a Poundmate to fight with you in battle, check enemy information via the Sujidex, and store your Photo Rally photos and progress. While you can't actually upgrade weapons via the Julie's Gearworks app, you can check how much money and what materials you need for each upgrade. This can save you a trip to a physical Gearworks location.
Thoroughly Prepare Before Dungeons
Dungeons in the game will be announced via a pop-up warning that will include a suggested level, the difficulty of the dungeon (indicated by a number of stars), and a reminder that you will not be allowed to return to the city until the dungeon has been cleared. Before heading into a dungeon, you should be thoroughly prepared. Stock up on healing and MP restoration items, as they are few and far between - there are no stores in dungeons you can purchase them from. It's also recommended that you be about 2-3 levels above the dungeon recommendation, as this will help you survive the many tricky fights ahead.
In Combat, Position Is Key
In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, all characters can move around during combat. Carefully check each character's position before attacking or unleashing a skill. If you're close enough to an enemy, you might just trigger a Proximity Bonus for extra damage. At higher Bond Levels, you can also perform combination attacks with nearby allies. Plus, standing by an item that can be picked up, such as a chair, sign, or even a weapon dropped by a defeated enemy, will let you perform an improvised Weapon Attack for a large amount of damage. Finally, Back Attacks deal extra damage, so strike enemies from behind whenever you can.

Stash Your Money In ATMs
ATMs are marked on the map with a dollar sign, and are often found near pawn shops or in malls or other large shopping centers. You can deposit any amount of money in an ATM, and later withdraw it when needed. You should make sure to regularly store money in ATMs, rather than carrying all of your cash around in Kasuga or Kiryu's pockets. If an enemy defeats you, they'll rob you of a large chunk of your remaining money - so keep your earnings safe by visiting the ATM regularly!
Unlock At Least One Skill Inheritance Slot For Everyone
Skill Inheritance slots are unlocked by raising each character's Bond Level with either Ichiban Kasuga or Kazuma Kiryu. These slots let you keep skills from the first job when switching a character into a new one. This is extremely valuable, as it lets you keep powerful skills around and fill gaps when switching jobs, such as retaining some healing ability when going into a physical-based job. Plus, having lots of different damage type skills available will help you take advantage of enemy weaknesses in battle.
Take Time To See The Sights
You can fast travel around Hawaii or Japan by calling a taxi to take you to a number of stops around the map. While there are definitely instances when saving time this way is a good idea, you should also take some time to walk around and explore. If you take a cab everywhere, you'll miss out on items, chests, enemies (including crown-wearing boss enemies), Photo Rally spots, and Aloha Link connections (in Hawaii). Taking the time to do some sightseeing is a great way to stock up on items and complete several side activities. Of course, you can also take a scenic trolley ride - and perhaps play a game of Sicko Snap along the way!
