What is the slowest day at Busch Gardens? ›

Visit during the weekday: Although the park typically has lighter traffic on weekdays (and this can vary), Tuesdays and Wednesdays generally tend to have lighter crowds and shorter wait lines.

Winter, late spring, and fall weekdays typically have the lowest crowds. Because most of the attractions at Busch Gardens Tampa are outdoors, a day with extended inclement weather will often reduce crowd levels.

The animals are great, the staff are top notch, the shows are worthwhile but the best deal is the dining plan. We bought our tickets on line and included the dining plan. We walked in at 9 am and out at 7pm and did not spend a dime on food or drink.

Which is better, Busch Gardens, Tampa or Williamsburg? ›

While both Busch Gardens provide animal experiences and feature animals onsite, Tampa definitely takes the cake for amazing animal experiences, bringing the African Serengeti right to you with their in-depth theme!

There are just more rides, attractions, shows, and entertainment offerings at Disney World. Busch Gardens has better thrill-seeking roller coasters and you also get admission to the attached zoo, but besides that, I think Disney World offers a better value.

Of course, to meander around the park at a leisurely pace and truly see everything, we recommend two full days at Busch Gardens Tampa. Just be sure to prioritize your time – between the rides, shows, attractions, and sheer number of animal exhibits, you will find your day goes by quickly here!

Arrive at Busch Gardens (9:30am) *Park opens at 10am

It takes about an hour to drive to Busch Gardens, and the ideal time to arrive is between 10am and 12 noon in the first hours after opening. (You want to allocate some time for parking as well.)

Theme parks are the least crowded between January 2 and Presidents Day weekend in mid-February. If you can visit on weekdays, late April through the middle of May is also less crowded.

It's one thing to drop 300 feet. It's a whole other for your seat to pivot 90° – then drop you face-first at 60 mph. The height Falcon's Fury® reaches offers an incredible view stretching well past downtown Tampa and encompassing all of Busch Gardens.

The answer is always yes, especially at certain peak times of the year like summer, spring break and the holiday season. But with Busch Gardens Tampa Bay being dubbed by Orlando Sentinel as “Florida's roller coaster capital”, it's never a bad idea to zoom through the lines and enjoy all the thrills.
